    Spicy Lemongrass

Spicy Lemongrass Mussels + Frites

The Recipe


2 Pounds of Mussels, Cleaned
3-4 Ounces of BowlCut Spice Lemongrass Stir Fry Sauce
1/4 Cup Unsalted Butter
2 Shallots or 1/2 of a Sweet Onion, finely chopped
6 Cloves of Garlic, Minced
1/2 Cup Shaoxing Wine
3/4 Cup Coconut Milk
2-4 Tablespoon Chives or Scallions, finely chopped
French Fries of your choice
1-2 Tablespoon Fish Sauce
Juice from 1/2 a Lemon
Salt and Pepper to Taste


  1. In a large pot or wide pan, melt butter over medium heat.Once butter is melted, add shallots and garlic.
  2. Cook, stirring often, until softened, about 6-8 minutes. Increase heat to high and add shaoxing wine, coconut milk, salt, pepper, and fish sauce.
  3. Cook for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add mussels to the pot followed by the Stir Fry Sauce.
  5. Cook mussels, stirring occasionally until the mussels are opened and fully cooked, about 6 minutes. 
  6. Remove from heat, finish with chives and lemon juice. Serve mussels along with the sauce in the pan over french fries. Enjoy!
